HIAF International is a humanitarian non-governmental organization headquartered in Germany, operating across eight countries in Africa. We are driven by a simple but powerful commitment to reach the most vulnerable children, women, and youth in the hardest-to-reach communities. Through integrated programs in education, health, clean water, food security, and economic empowerment, we address the root causes of poverty and build lasting resilience.

We don’t just deliver aid we walk alongside communities, listen to their needs, and co-create solutions that last long after we leave. Every program we implement is guided by our founding belief: that no child’s future should be determined by the circumstances of their birth.

Our Approach

We Reach Every Last Child

At HIAF International, our approach begins where others stop. We go beyond urban centers and accessible communities to find and serve those in the most remote and underserved areas across Africa. Our work is rooted in deep community engagement, listening first, then designing programs that respond to real, lived needs rather than assumptions.

We implement integrated development programs that tackle multiple challenges at once, because we know that poverty is never just one problem. A child cannot learn on an empty stomach. A mother cannot work when clean water is hours away. By addressing education, health, nutrition, WASH, and livelihoods together, we create change that is lasting and interconnected.

Our programs are built on trust — trust earned through consistent presence, local partnerships, and a genuine commitment to leaving communities stronger than we found them. Every intervention we design is guided by one question: will this reach the last child?
